Everything Eddie Edwards had become in life was thanks to one man.

It had started with the baseball bat sending the chair into his eye. Eddie had won the match against 𝗵𝗶𝗺. He had rolled 𝗵𝗶𝗺 up fairly only to end up attacked from behind. That chair had been placed over his chest and that with the combined force of the bat wrapped in barbed wire had busted open his eyes. Even now, he could feel the force of the blow if he thought about it for too long. It had been that hit from the bat that snowballed into where he was now.

The eye injury, after all, had led to the obsession with 𝗵𝗶𝗺.

Eddie had stalked the man who professed himself as the new horror for the better part of a year before his and Davey's adopted daughter Lyra Dawn had taken the hard measure to do what needed to be done. Eddie had been checked into a mental institution for his betterment, trying to get him the help that he so desperately needed. Eddie had stewed in his own anger, his hatred while he lived life away from his then husband and adopted daughter.

Once he had been checked out, Eddie had tried to live life normally again. Davey had become a rock, even if Eddie allowed his emotions to be ruled without honor. It hadn't mattered how positive the addition of the British wolves were to his life. As long as Audrina Colette whispered darkness in his ear, Eddie had only wanted to do what she said. The darkness was due to 𝗵𝗶𝗺.

Everything was because of 𝗵𝗶𝗺.

For a brief, shining moment after Audrina left, life had been good. Eddie and Davey had been happy and planning a world tour together. It felt like the time before the darkness, before the injury. Eddie had dared to hope and dream. That light, that good, had quickly turned to darkness after a man of shadows had torn his Davey away. Even Alisha, who had been their third musketeer had been worried about Eddie's behavior, and rightfully so. Eddie had been willing to throw away his sobriety because he couldn't stand the pain anymore.

And then 𝙝𝙚 had shown up at the bar.

As soon as Eddie's cold blue eyes, consumed with rage and hurt, met the cruel brown eyes of the man who had ruined everything, the elder wolf had been ready to fight. "I'll take one final step. All you have to do is make me," the man rasped as he told his hands up in submission. Eddie wanted nothing more than to fight, but this darkness? This evil?

It was the only fucking thing that made sense right now.

"It always comes back to you," Eddie didn't try to push him away, refusing to look at Sami Callihan. He sniffed, stirring the ice in his water, "No matter where I'm fuckin' at in life, it always comes back to you."

"Ya ain't drinkin' are ya?" Callihan sat down next to him. There was a silence between the two and Callihan cut hand signals to the bartender to cut Eddie off from the possibility of alcohol. "I have 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 where ya are, ya know. I don't care if you want to drink or not. I'm not letting you go down the same path I did."

Eddie snarled, hunched over the bar, "I don't give a shit if you've been down that road. You're my enemy. Ya get that, right? You always fuckin' have been."

The sharp bark of a laugh that left Callihan's lips made Eddie want to smash the glass in his hand over Callihan's head. "You're damn right I have been, but I always 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 you, Eddie. Despite all the bullshit, that respect lingers. I'd be shitting all over that if I let ya throw your life away. I refuse to let you."

Eddie glanced over at the man, noticing little things about him for the first time. The way his lips turned into a rugged smirk. The way his eyes seemed to sparkle with an almost mischievous light. He shook his head, pinching the bridge of his nose as he admitted, "I respect the talent you have. Always did. Ain't no one able to drive me crazy like you have. And I mean that literally. I ended up in an asylum because of you."

Callihan laughed again, a throaty sound that had once driven Eddie mad. Now? For some reason, Eddie decided that laugh was warm. "I respect your talent, too. I can't say I know how you're feeling right now, but I've been alone. I know what it's like to not have that one person you'd move mountains for, to have them not be with you. Turning to the bottle nearly ruined my life. I won't let it ruin yours. I'll be damned.

Eddie wanted to tell Sami the truth, that this would not be the first time he turned to the bottle. It would just be the first time Davey wasn't here to stop him. "We're enemies. We...uh..."

"That rivalry is behind us," Callihan protested, a gentle hand to Eddie's shoulder. It was the first time that he had ever laid a nonviolent hand on him, Eddie mused. "But now? I'm here to help. However you need it, I'll help you, Eddie."

AEW: Booking Hangman's Title Win

Hangman Page seems all but destined to be the man who takes the belt from Kenny Omega. Two different stories have unraveled since their break as a tag team with Kenny the heel world champion and Hangman the babyface man of the people. But it does feel like this long story still has plenty of chapters to go, and while we wonder how this story will continue to unfold, this is how I would do it.

Kenny unravels as Hangman Rises Omega's road to All Out is a turbulent one, and since chances are he won't go to NJPW, NWA or ROH to continue his belt collection, I think the Belt Collector's time is about to come to an end.

July 17th will mark the end of his Impact reign, losing to Sami Callihan at Slammiversary. Don has already been 'fired' from Impact so he will have little leverage to save him this time around, I don't think even TK can give him any special treatments either. Then in August 14th, he will lose the Mega Championship at Triplemania XXIX to Andrade El Idolo. Not only does this give Andrade gold to carry around on AEW but also will cement the fact that he can beat Omega - which will come into play much later.

This leaves the illustrious belt collector with one: the AEW World Championship. Because Omega's character has been super cartoonish, I expect him to grow very self-conscious about the fact that people want to take his title, think Gollum crossed with that coach in The Waterboy. Unhinged Kenny will juxtapose a much more mentally together Hangman, who keeps on winning clean. This all leading to the third destination

Kenny Omega vs Hangman Page at All Out.

Elite Mind Games Although he is the top of the ranks, Hangman has often dodged the question regarding the world title. Deep down Hangman is still has mixed feelings regarding the Elite, and whether he is worthy or able to defeat Hangman; he's fallen short multiple times after all. This is Kenny's in to get the mental edge over Hangman.

Because their split didn't have a full stop, Kenny will pretend to his adversary that they are still friends, he will lure Hangman to doubt himself by giving him what he desperately wanted last year: forgiveness from the Elite. Feigning the olive branch with the Bucks, the Elite will poison Hangman's mind to be unprepared for shenanigans, they will draw him away from the Dark Order and at All Out, Hangman will go to face Omega alone.

All Out - Kenny Retains...just It could start as a clean contest, but the moment Hangman starts looking like he will succeed, the madness of Omega will once again show itself. Without anyone to help him, Hangman will be forced to push his babyface fire to the limits, he will fight through the entire Elite: the Good Brothers, Nick and then Matt. He'll hit the Buckshot, the Deadeye, 1, 2, Don stops it. Hangman will dismantle Don but then it's Kenny's turn, V-Trigger, One Winged Angel, 1, 2, 3.

On the second battle, Kenny wins once more, but it took every trick in the book he had to bring him down, the opponent he felt was a sure thing after his mind games, and it shows on his face. But it also shows on Hangman, because he fell for all of it and now he's alone again.

The Madness of Kenny / The Isolation of Hangman Becoming so close to losing will put Kenny at his most possessive, his most desperate. Kenny will grow erratic and hostile with each title defense, cheating all the more blatantly and willfully, a collection of OC, PAC, Andrade, Archer and Kazarian all knock on his door for specials like Grand Slam, Full Gear and the 2nd Anniversary but Kenny survives through his madness until he is a full shadow of himself.

Hangman though descends beyond rock bottom, not even feeling like he deserves forgiveness for pushing away the Dark Order. Hangman too will completely lose himself, losing his motivation to even wrestle let alone associate with anything relative to the Elite. We'll only see him at rare times, hiding in dark corners trying to avoid Marvez or completely drunk out of his mind in a pile of bags or coats, a sad sight to behold.

"If you all sit there and ignore it, you're all cowards!" Along the list of opponents waiting to face Kenny, Eddie Kingston must be near the end. Kingston, Moxley, Penta, PAC, Christian and Kazarian all at different times found common ground to try and defeat the Elite, but the distractions have proven too much.

Kingston will unsuccessfully challenge Kenny, but after his defeat he'll run into Hangman and dress him down, a scolding never before seen because Hangman is the one that he is disappointed with the most. Hangman overcame the numbers, he had Kenny scared but he has simply sat there and let the Elite continue this reign of terror while he throws a pity party for himself. Refusing to let Hangman regress either, Kingston will push Hangman into fighting him, so he can let out his frustrations and fears, but the Elite will be wise to this too.

Before Kingston and Hangman can have their rubber match, the Elite will attack Kingston and kayfabe injure him, preventing Kingston from making any more progress with Hangman. They'll feign their reasoning to not involve Hangman and feel like the deal is done, because Hangman - despite being in the top 5 - has disappeared once more.

Evening the Numbers At this point of booking I would see Kenny being the sole titleholder in the Elite. The Bucks already lost their tag titles a while ago and they fell short in a Trios tournament, so now they're mainly dedicated to keeping Kenny as world champion.

We'll have one more special where Kenny successfully defends his title again, let's say it's Winter is Coming. As the Elite celebrate a full year of Kenny's title reign in the ring, the music changes. Out comes Hangman, next in line due to the rankings, the Elite look concerned but confident that they can take him, but then around the ring they realise they have company: the Dark Order surround the apron and that leads to a brawl. The Dark Order have the advantage but Kenny is using the belt as an equalizer, taking out anyone that moves, but as he turns he eats a Buckshot Lariat and the show closes on Hangman standing tall, his eyes driven and focused on the prize.

Revolution: The Win Personally I would've liked to have done this for Full Gear or All Out, because there'd be the narrative there of either the beginning of Page's self-doubt (Full Gear when the Bucks kept mocking his physique in comparison to PAC) or his first failure to capture the title (All Out vs Jericho), but I don't think we can wait another full year for this, so it happens at Revolution. And Revolution is still sensible too, it was the tease of divide between the Elite and Hangman during their tag battle and it's the PPV after Kenny's anniversary as champion.

When Revolution's main event goes down Kenny is uncaged and will look to put Hangman away early, and every time Hangman fights back he becomes more and more scared. Every attempt at shenaniganry by the Elite will also be blocked off, either by the Dark Order or returning enemies like Mox, Eddie, Death Triangle, Daniels and Kazarian, not in Lumberjack style but in a way where we see that the narrative is AEW vs The Elite. This is the time where Hangman kicks out of the One Winged Angel, we'll tease it in the match but have him reach the ropes so the fans think he can't possibly kick out of a second or third one. When the lid blows off and Kenny is all out of options, he'll try begging, low blows, belt shots, chairs, anything he can muster to keep Hangman down, even mocking Hangman with a Buckshot variant of his V-Trigger for that extra spice of scumbaggery. But it comes to a final clash, both men on either side of the ring, wounded, exhausted, barely able to stand, but not looking away. One Last Move. The majority of the locker room (I mean I don't expect the likes of IC, Andrade, Miro and Pinnacle to be all happy days about it) and maybe even the crowd can then invade the ring to celebrate with Hangman to close the night, completing the story while bringing up several other talents and keeping story opportunities for Hangman and the Elite to venture off on their separate ways.

Personally I feel like this - if done how I imagine it of course - would be a perfect closing of the Hangman saga, but others may not think so, and maybe AEW has thought of something I haven't which makes it even better, only time will tell. But I felt like getting that off my chest.

Jay White, FinJuice Make Surprise Appearances At Impact Slammiversary PPV 7/17/2021, Kojima Does Not; Podcast Recording Today

Last night’s Slammiversary PPV from Impact Wrestling had a couple of NJPW flavored surprises. The biggest one coming at the end of the show, once Kenny Omega retained the Impact World Championship in a No-DQ hardcore match against *spits* Sami Callihan. The lights went out, and Jay White’s entrance theme and video start playing, with Switchblade himself coming to the ring, holding the NEVER Openweight Championship. Once in the ring, Omega, Don Callis and the Good Brothers (”Machine Gun” Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows, who regained the Impact World Tag Team titles earlier in the show) tried to throw Too Sweets at Jay, but did not return the gesture before the closing titles faded up.

Honestly, it would be more interesting if the Bullet Club itself were to war with the Elite once more, because a) they’d already been going that way, mostly on social media, but also on-screen on AEW Dynamite, with KENTA’s infamous “Shut the fuck up” to Omega b) it never had a proper ending the last time, with the Elite just deciding they were done with the feud on the Jericho Cruise in 2018. Since then, of course, there’s been a LOT of alluding and name-dropping of the Bullet Club on AEW and Impact programming, even before the whole “Forbidden Door” thing was made official. We’ll see where this goes. Jay has a win over Omega as it is, going back to 2018, beating Omega for the IWGP US Heavyweight title, in the early days of the Switchblade character.

Earlier in the show, former IWGP and Impact tag team champions Juice Robinson & David Finlay Jr. made a surprise appearance as well, taking on and defeating Madman Fulton & Shera in a very short (1:15) impromptu match. Coincidentally, two of these NJPW surprises have a NEVER Openweight Title match coming up at NJPW Resurgence in about a month’s time, so luckily here’s a venue for them to do some build for that match!

In other related news from this show, NJPW Strong featured wrestler Josh Alexander retained the X Division title, defeating Super J-Cup 2020 participant Chris Bey, Rohit Raju, Petey Williams, Trey Miguel and Ace Austin in an Ultimate X Match. Also, prior to the main event, a teaser was shown for the forthcoming Bound For Glory PPV, which featured the logos of both NJPW and AAA, the lucha libre company that kinda sorta works with Impact. That won’t make NJPW’s Mexican partners CMLL very happy at all. NJPW has all the leverage in that relationship, however, as has been noted before, so CMLL may just have to deal with it if they want to continue that relationship. CMLL already cut ties with ROH earlier this year, more or less on the fly, over talents working for the ultimately-cancelled Federacion Wrestling event, so who knows what they will do.

It should be noted that Satoshi Kojima took no part in this show at all, and there were fans in attendance, Impact’s first such event since the pandemic. I’m not sure if this was pre-taped or not at this point. It would be hard to keep certain spoilers like what we saw here, or like AEW/NWA’s Thunder Rosa appearing as a mystery opponent, under wraps very long.

Rebellion preview

Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega - Swann is the Impact Wrestling men's world champion, and Omega is the AEW men's world champion. Both prizes are on the line; it will be champion versus champion, title for title. This isn't the first time top champions from different promotions have squared off, but it usually only happens at a minor-league level, or when one group is in the process of absorbing the other. Truly interpromotional champion vs. champion battles at this level are rare, and even rarer when both titles are defended. So even though it's "just" Impact, and even though AEW has only been around for "just" a couple of years, it's still fairly special.

Omega also holds the AAA mega championship, but it looks as though that title is not at stake. Last month Swann unified the Impact title with Moose's unofficial TNA world title, but he's still carrying around both belts, so I'm not really sure if they're both on the line here. So technically this isn't winner take all. Maybe we can call it winner take most?

This match has been brewing since December, when Impact executive Don Callis made a guest appearance on AEW Dynamite, and helped AEW executive Omega win the AEW title. Since then, Callis and Omega have been throwing their weight around in both promotions. Swann took offense at the idea that Omega is the "real" world champion, and Omega expressed an interest in collecting more top championships. After Omega pinned Swann to win a six-man tag team match in January, it became clear that they had to meet one-on-one and put it all mostly on the line.

Omega is clearly the heavy favorite to win. They've all but said that in the storyline, with Callis trying to get in Swann's head about how he really has no chance. The minute Callis said he was bringing Kenny to Impact, everyone started fantasy booking past "Omega beats Swann" all the way up to "Omega invades New Japan to collect more belts." It's going to be tricky to lay this match out in a way that doesn't make Swann look like a second-rate chump. But Kenny is the guy who took a lot of guff from people who thought he made Allan Angels look too good in a squash match last year. If he can manage that, I'm pretty sure he can and will protect Swann.

The bigger question is what happens after Impact puts their world title on an AEW guy. Impact will have a outsider as their champion, who only wrestles for them on special occasions, and they can't plan a date for him to lose the title without clearing it with Tony Khan. For a company the size of Impact, that's a small price to pay to have the prestige of Omega carrying their richest prize. But it's risky business not having an endgame planned out, and I doubt their fanbase will have an appetite for Kenny Omega playing Brock Lesnar with Impact's top guys. But that issue will have to play out later; for now we just get to wait and see if the inevitable really happens.

Juice Robinson & David Finlay vs. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson - FinJuice suddenly showed up in Impact a couple of months ago and won the Impact men's tag title from the Good Brothers. Then they took the belts back to New Japan Pro Wrestling, and now they're back to give the former champs a rematch.

The story of the feud is that Robinson and Finlay were "young boys" back when Gallows and Anderson were the top team in New Japan, but now the tables have turned. What's more interesting, though, is the metanarrative: If NJPW is sending FinJuice to fight the Good Brothers in Impact, and AEW is sending Kenny Omega to team with the Good Brothers in Impact, then sooner or later NJPW and AEW will end up directly working together for the real fantasy matchups. If FinJuice retain here it strengthens the idea that the NJPW/Impact relationship isn't a one-off; if they drop the belts then it could go either way. That's kind of more compelling than anything about the match itself.

I'm a fan of Juice, so I'm always up for seeing him getting to win big matches and capturing championships. But seeing FinJuice in New Japan with the Impact tag belts felt a little hollow, because I know they're only doing that because they're not figured into major programs in New Japan. So I'm not sure where I want to see them end up after this. For now, though, I'll be rooting for them to keep frustrating the Good Brothers.

Deonna Purazzo vs. Tenille Dashwood - Dashwood improbably won a six-way hardcore match to earn the right to challenge Purazzo for the Impact women's championship. It's a little weird booking a heel vs. heel match, but Purazzo has kinda cleaned out the division so there aren't a lot of better options. No offense to these two, but this is basically a one-match show no matter what they put on the undercard, so if they have something better in mind it makes sense to save it for, say, Slammiversary.

I always felt like Dashwood was undervalued by WWE and never got a strong run anywhere else to prove her worth. So it'd be neat if they put her over now, but her current character is so two-dimensionally vapid that it's hard to take her seriously. Purazzo's gimmick is that she's really fucking good at wrestling, and Dashwood's gimmick is that she's only really interested in her Instagram or whatever. So on paper Purazzo has to clobber this chump; if she gets bamboozled by a distraction from Kaleb with a K then she looks like a giant idiot, and Tenille is just the chump who beat a giant idiot.

Now, if they want to have Dashwood turn it up a notch and remember it says "marquee" on the wrestling, then great. But I'm not expecting them to do that. Deonna should retain.

Ace Austin vs. TJP vs. Josh Alexander - This is a three-way match for Austin's X division title, so the first man to score a fall over either opponent wins the match and the championship.

I think this match is a three-way because Austin won the title in some other three-way. They do three-ways for this title a lot. I mean, I'm grateful they finally quit doing Rohit Raju vs. TJP vs. Chris Bey, so that's something. But I'm pretty sure the last time I wrote about an X title match on an Impact PPV I just bitched about why multi-man matches suck and don't settle anything. I bet I said that the winner will just end up feuding with the guy who wasn't pinned, and then a third guy will interject himself to set up another multi-man that doesn't settle anything. I wish Kenny Omega would collect this belt and put it out of its misery.

Matt Cardona vs. Brian Myers - Cardona and Myers came up through WWE together as the Major Brothers and later as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. They were both cut from WWE a year ago, and Myers quickly signed with Impact while Cardona had a cup of coffee with AEW. It seemed like they had gone their separate ways until Cardona turned up in Impact, which Myers resented. Now they're finally squaring off to settle their differences. But considering Myers is playing a conniving heel that tries to weasel out of stuff, I get the feeling he won't give Cardona the chance to settle anything in the ring. This match feels it'll either end in a disqualification or a fuck finish.

Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel - This is billed as a "last man standing" match, so if a wrestler is on the ground and fails to get up to answer the referee's ten-count, his opponent is the last man standing and the winner. Other than that rule, anything goes.

Miguel had spent a few years in Impact as part of the Rascals with Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz, but then all three got a big sendoff back in November. Dez and Wentz signed with WWE and have since captured the NXT tag team titles as Wes Lee and Nash Carter. Trey unexpectedly returned to Impact in January, and Callihan has been giving him shit about being alone. Callihan keeps trying to provoke and manipulate Miguel into becoming Sami's protege. So it's kind of a thing where Trey has to either pull out all the stops to get a big win over a top guy, or fight so savagely that he turns to the dark side and accepts Sami as a mentor.

This may sound weird, but Callihan almost seems like Impact's equivalent to Bray Wyatt in WWE. Not, like, in terms of magic powers or whatever (although he does seem to teleport now and then). What I mean is every Sami Callihan storyline is kind of overwritten with all these layers of character development and intrigue about how Sami is trying to make the babyface recognize some subtle point. It's all so psychological, but then it just boils down to a vicious brawl, and Sami usually loses, so it kind of doesn't matter. Then they do it all over again and act like it's so deep, as if we hadn't seen him do it eight times already.

I think Trey should probably win if they're going to do anything with him. But on the other hand I think Sami needs a win at this point. But if Sami beats Trey I'm a tag concerned that Trey will become his crustpunk disciple or something, which is a little too close to what Eric Young is already doing.

Eric Young & Rhino & Cody Deaner & Joe Doering vs. Eddie Edwards & Willie Mack & Chris Sabin & James Storm - Young's team is Violent By Design. The group started feuding with Sabin and Storm a few weeks ago. (Storm became Sabin's regular tag team partner when Alex Shelley decided to sit out until he can be vaccinated, for the good of his physical therapy patients.) I don't really remember how Edwards and Mack got pulled into this, but it was inevitable as VBD is one of those groups that all the babyfaces are going to end up feuding with.

I read that Young tore his ACL during the last set of TV taping, and he worked through it in a number of matches. I don't know if this is one of them, because I don't know if this show is live or if it was taped weeks ago. Either way, it's possible Young just won't do anything during the match. Or they'll do an angle to write him out immediately before or immediately after the match. I'm not sure what happens to VBD while he's sidelined. But in the moment, I think they're the favorites to win this match.

Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz vs. Jordynne Grace & ??? - Hogan and Steelz (Fire & Flava) are defending the Impact women's tag team title. Grace earned this shot when she and her partner Jazz defeated the champs in a non-title match. However, Jazz had recently put her career on the line in a match she lost, so to honor the stipulation she declined to participate. So Grace gets a different partner for this match, who probably won't be identified until right before the bell rings.

Impact has been hyping the return of Taylor Wilde, but somehow I don't feel like she'd fit in this spot. If I remember right, Jazz said she had someone in mind for Grace's partner, and it's hard to imagine either of them deciding Wilde is a good fit with their team. ODB would make more sense, except she already came in to team with Jazz and Grace, so it'd be anticlimactic to just go there again. I think it's highly unlikely that anyone WWE let go on April 15 would be available for this show, so don't get your hopes up for Mickie James or Chelsea Green.

Usually you would expect the team with a mystery partner to blindside the other team for a big win to hype up said mystery partner. But it's possible they could do a swerve--the mystery woman could turn on Grace, for example. Without any idea who Grace's partner will be, I'd personally rather see Fire & Flava keep the belts. So if there is going to be a title change, I really hope they have somebody who can win me over.

Who’s a wrestler you’ve never written about but want to?

Ooh, that is an extremely interesting question, anon!

I guess there's a few I've technically written about but never actually finished anything for and really want to. Kento Miyahara is probably top of that list because he is the most charismatic and delightful kind-of-asshole ever and I adore him and I have had a stupid little short thing about him nearly done forever that I need to just push and get finished.

And old school Damnation with Shuji, damn, I have been writing that fic off and on for so long.

Also Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo because I LOVE both of them and they deserve better than a half-done fic! (It's a historical AU, btw, with a poly arranged marriage, ha.)

But people I have never written about at all, but want to.... hmm. There's a lot! But some current notables would be:

- Shibata, for sure. I have actually been watching some old Shibata matches recently, because he was injured right before I started NJPW, but I always get distracted from the (excellent) wrestling because I seriously cannot ever stop staring at his crotch. There's a like a LOT happening in Shibata's trunks, good lord. And he's just so cool but also legitimately slightly insane. I watched that California Dreamin' series about the LA Dojo with all the Young Lions and Shibata living in the same house and have for a while wanted to write something where Shibata takes you home and makes you have really noisy sex just to fuck with the guys who are all stuck in their tiny bedrooms together. And then in the morning you have to go out and face them, and you're totally embarrassed and they're all wide-eyed because Shibata's never brought a girl home before and he's just sitting there loving it.

- Kay Lee Ray, because she's so hot and so thoroughly mean and horrible and would dominate the absolute shit out of you and call you names until you cried and then laugh at you. And she either wouldn't let you come ever or make you come over and over til you were like sobbing to make it stop.

- My most beloved Ken Ohka, but I always think that it would be one hundred percent impossible to write truly in-character fic about kayfabe Ohka having sex without him crying at some point in the proceedings. Probably crying a whole lot, let's face it. And you'd have to write it so it was pathetic in a sweet and funny way rather than pathetic in a sad way, which I'm not sure would be all that easy.

- Gibson and Drake, though slightly more Drake. Epic hair, great tattoos, almost never speaks when in character, so lots of nasty silent sex. Also his character kind of comes across to me as sort of endearingly stupid? Like Gibson is clearly the brains and mouth of that operation and James Drake looking real pretty while nodding along and mouthing the most easily predictable bits of whatever Gibson's saying is lovely. Maybe he tries to silently menace you into some sex but the menacing is unnecessary because you're really into it and it's amazing but you're completely shocked when afterwards he starts talking to you. Not in any way, you know, articulately, but words!

- Ilja Dragunov, and I don't know what I'd write about him but I'm sure there would some super-intense, red-eyed fucking involved. Actually, you know what he needs? Some kind of AU. I don't know what, though, but I am going to think about that, because I feel that is where the key to him lies...

- And for honorable mentions: Jake Lee, El Hijo del Vikingo, Saki-sama, Keith Lee, Jiro Kuroshio, Masaaki Mochizuki, Sami Callihan (please spit on me, you disgusting man), and Naruki Doi.

Parenthood - Part One

Note: First person POV, OFC. Sami is an overprotective parent. Had the idea in my mind for days and I have to write it down. I’m gonna keep this story short so I can go back to focus on the Fulton fanfic.

Part One

“They put nails in my sport shoes.”

The little girl pouted, eyes watering.

I was shocked to hear how mean children could be nowadays, but the more shocking thing was what came after.

The black-haired man who passed by the kitchen rushed back, yelled in rage, “what the fuck did those bastards do?!”

“Sami Callihan, we talked about this, no dirty word in this household.”

“Oh sorry... Anyways, what did those... boys do? Putting nails in your shoes?! Was that true?”

The little girl, Hanna, nodded.

“I’m gonna kill those fu... boys, I mean boys.”

Headache kicked in, I massaged my temple, “let’s talk to the teacher tomorrow...”

But the hot-tempered wrestler already dialed the number and was summoning his crew, “Jake, some boys in school bullied Hanna, I’m gonna teach them a lesson. Yeh bring Fulton too.”

It took me few seconds to come back to myself. “Don’t call them!” I shouted, hoping Jake Crist could hear me over the phone and talk some sense to Sami. “I can deal with it in better way...”

“No Jake, don’t listen to her. NO ONE can bully Hanna. We are going to pick her up tomorrow and find those fuckers out.”

I immediately covered Hanna’s ears, “Sami please, watch for your language...” At this point, to ask him not to go to school with his friends like a group of gangster was no longer an option. All I could do was to remind him of his dirty word issue.

The only reason I preferred the incident to not be disclosed to Sami was I knew how he would act. I was not afraid to confront those bullies and their parents, I would be glad to do so, but the Callihan Death Machine had more straightforward way to solve the issue.

Due to my work, I recently relocated to this neighbourhood and transferred Hanna to the new school. Although it’s pity to see that she had to say goodbye to her friends, I was actually relieved that she could have new start without Sami and his crew picking her up on the way back from match.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved his friends. Unlike the character they acted in rings, they were friendly and easy-going in life, and they took care Hanna whenever they could. On the other hand, they could be overprotective. Hanna had been bullied before in the previous school, few girls pulled her hair and called her “weirdo”. Not only Sami, but also his “Callihan cult” went mad. The next thing I knew was Sami showed up to pick Hanna from school, with The Crist brothers and Fulton alongside. Which, of course, created some turmoil.

“Is uncle David coming tomorrow too?” Hanna asked, hand pulling Sami’s sleeve.

“Of course sweetie, your favourite uncle David is coming with his good friend, Mr Chair...”

“Sami,” I had to cut him off before Hanna started to think “Mr Chair” was a real person, “calling it ‘mister’ does not make bringing steel chair to school legit. You need to calm yourself down first.”

Sami’s eyes widened. He looked at me as if I just murdered someone, “She was BULLIED.”

“We cannot bully the bullies back.”

“So we are just gonna invite them for lunch and have nice lil’ chat?”

I sighed and turned to Hanna, “sweetie, mommy is going to have a serious conversation with Sami, do you want to watch TV?”

Hanna happily accepted my offer and headed to the living room.

“Am I right to say that you still haven’t told her?” Sami reproved, arms crossed in front of chest. “You cannot hide it forever.”

“Shut up.” I snapped at him unkindly.

“I know you’re mad at me, but you have no right to keep her away from the truth. She will resent you if she finds out by herself.”

He was right, but I didn’t know how to tell Hanna. I had the fear that she would push me away. She was only seven, what if she was unable to accept it? Imagining how she would react, my fingers anxiously tapped the kitchen counter.

“I know what you are worried about. Listen, I’m learning to be a parent ‘cause I wanna be part of her life.”

“All you learned is to scare her classmates with your friends...” I mumbled.

“Hey it’s part of the learning process.”

“Being overprotective can cause issue. When the day that she has to stand up for herself comes, would you let it go?”

Sami took long time to consider my question and eventually nodded as if he compromised, “I will because I have to. I can’t protect her forever, neither can you, she has to face all the goods and evils, see what a real world is. But not now.”

“I think you can be a good parent.”

“Only if I can be as brave as you. I was angry at what you did at very first because I was freaked out.” he hugged me to give me comfort and support. “I am sorry.”

To be honest, I never blamed him, I would probably have done the same.

Buried my face in his neck, I felt safe. “I’m going to tell her.” I looked up at him, “Would you be there with me?”

He pressed a kiss on my forehead, “of course. I promise.”
